Transfering projects from one PC to another [Solved]

I recently reinstalled my AllPlan and I wanted to import a project from a friend. He gave me the folder <name example.prj> and I copied it in my PRJ folder. After that I went in AllMenu > Services > Hotline Tools > reorg and it gave me the next error: "Can't append record to project administration" and "Project does not exist".

I have AllPlan 2016 freshly installed, but I don't know what the problem is. If anyone can help me out I would be greatful!

I think so.
You can not insert a project from an higher version.

Do you use Workgroup Manager?
Then, put your project in the right folder.
You can see the path in the main window of Allmenu.

It is in the right folder. In the first picture you can see my path from Allmenu. In the second one I'm in the exact folder. I don't use Workgroup Manager, I never did.

Well, then the problem is not in the folder place.
Did you try again "Reorg"?
Are you sure the content of the project is ok?
You need to have this file: "Project1.Dat.xml".

I did try again, same thing. I am pretty sure everything checks out and it's ok. I have Project1.Dat.xml, you can see it in the picture.
I just saw the version.txt file, heard something about projects made on the same version. My friend has Allplan 2016 same as me, but that folder has a 27 wrote inside while in my test project I have 26. If I modify that, does something happens? I think I will just start everything over, but I wanted to know a fix to this error or at least what causes it.

You have not to change it but you are trying to load a project from Allplan 2017 in Allplan 2016.
Then, ask your friend to convert the project in Allplan 2016 first.
If you change the value, you'll certainly get errors when working on objects...

So this error is caused because of the version difference?

I think so.
You can not insert a project from an higher version.

Alright I got it, so it has to convert the files from a version to another. Thanks a lot for the replies and you time! REally appreciate it! Have a nice day/night

Thanks!
