Question:

The new 3D helical reinforcement has been available since Allplan 2009. A helix is to be placed in a 2D round steel pattern.



Answer:

The new helical reinforcement can be created with different course heights along any contour.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to create this helix as a 2D bar. However, you can integrate this 3D reinforcement into 2D reinforcement:
 

• Create a round column in plan using Create -> Architecture -> Base: Walls, Openings, Components.
• You can create a side view or a section of the column via: Create -> Views, sections, details -> Views and sections -> Generate view or Generate section
  
• Activate the 3D reinforcement mode by ticking 2D/3D reinforcement mode for Reinforce with 3D model under Tools -> Options -> Reinforcement -> General
• Start the function Create -> Engineering -> Bar reinforcement -> Circular reinforcement and select the helical reinforcement.
• Set the parameters for course heights, concrete cover etc. in the palette.
