[Frage] Allplan End point in section as a snap [Gelöst]

Hello

I work with Allplan since one week, so it is possible that my question is stupid.

I've made a section and I want to add dimensions. Is this possible to use end point as a snap for dimension?

Till now, I was not able to make that, but I hope that I only don't know how to make it.

It is very important for vertical dimensions, because I need for them end points.

Thanks in advance

Tomek

Hi Tomek,

Ah okay, now it is clear to me.
I don't know which version of Allplan you use but this is/was a problem I also sometimes had but in the newer versions (2021 and higher) it does work for me. Sometime you only need to be a little bit more patient and move your cursor around the point then you would love (and also is common in other software).
My workaround for this problem was to set the section on not updating automatically, so deactivate the checkbox in the section settings. After that I would be no problem to select the endpoints you mention.

The problem occurs when the section is not perfectly perpendicular on the lines, so for example the deck is in a slight angle vertically but the section is perfectly horizontal/perpendicular on the outer edges. In this case the section line is moving up if you would make the section look more deep. If you activate the visible edges, so not only the section lines, you might see there is a line appearing that symbolize the structure in dept. So because the section is always a bit higher or lower if you move the section a bit in plan view Allplan has a hard time snapping on the end points.

Hope this clarifies it a bit more for you and hopefully the workaround will help you in this case.

Kind regards,

Nick

Hi Tomek,

What is exactly the case? Is it that when you use the dimension function you can't select the desired end points of the section, like pointed out in the attachment? Or is it something like you want the dimension points to stay attached to these point that when they move the dimension will move along and adapt with it?

Kind regards,

Nick

Hi Nick

The case is that I can't choose end of cut line as a snap point for dimension. Allplan don't see end of this line. In options I've selected snap for end point, but it doesn't work.

Example as attachment.

With "updating automatically" doesn't work. When it is turned off, then I can snap to end points. Thanks.
