Can Allplan update smart parts library, especial furniture 3d models for architecture because it is not updated last 4 -5 years. Due to archicad and revit it is very poor.
You "must" not buy something. It's the same for other software. For all, there are free and paid contents. In Germany, there is also IBD content for Allplan for example (mainly paid with some few free elements).
The free content that you can find for Archicad or Revit comes from several ways:
- manufacturers pay companies like BIMobject to create their own objects, mainly as "fixed" objects,
- users made objects (as they want...) and share them on internet platforms (and mainly you need to adjust them to meet your needs).
As you said, creating object costs a lot. No other software vendor create the content because it is an infinite work. Allplan tried few years ago and it was very hard to define what is needed and how to be profitable...
We can say that Allplan is only a main tool and all the skills and specific needs for your daily work should be brought by your team and some complementary partners.
I know what you mean Brada. I'm working with Allplan expecially for architecture stuffs and I can understand you're disappointment. But I'm trying also to understand the position of a software house that has to invest in something to make better its software. I think it's difficult to develop something that could fit for you and at the same time for all the other architects in an area so "custom" as is furniture. For this reason I think Allplan is not going into that direction and it's trying to improve other more "standard" tools of the software. I see better your analogy not a car without tyres but a fast car without optional (that are so personal to try to propose them into a particular pack).
