Hi,
I was trying to export wall's basic geometric values such as length, width, area etc. to the IFC2x3 file. My problem is: geometric attributes export only as BaseQuantities (in addition they are visible only if I don't tick CV2.0 option). I can add geometric attributes manually, but they are not calculated at all. They are zeros. Thus, I can't find a way to create my own Pset with geometric attributes. It's really frustrating because it's only about simple basic geometric data to manage. I will be grateful for any tips.

Hi,
the Geometric Attributes are Calculated on the fly in Allplan when Opening the Attributes Mask or creating Reports. In Version 2019 we will support BaseQuantities with the new Interface. But currently there is one way what can be used, but it is a little bit tricky. We used it in different BIM Projects as Workaround. But be CAREFUL with it, it can DESTROY your complete Attributes if you do an Error. Don't use it, if you are not familar with the Steps I describe, just send me PM and I can show you with Team Viewer.
1) Create the Attributes which you would like to transfer as new Attributes with different Name in Allplan, e.g. "IFC_Length", …
2) Do an Excel Export of the Quantities (Export->Export Quantites Data)
3) Delete in the Excel File all Columns which do not contain your Quantities. The first Column with the Element ID has to remain.
4) Rename the Attributes in the Header Line to your new created Attributes.
5) Save the Excel File and Import it again (Import->Import Quantities Data...) - WARNING: If your Excel File is modified incorrect, this can DESTROY your Attributes completely !!!
6) Now the Attributes IFC_Length, … have the correct Quantities Values set and can be exported to IFC
7) Create User IFC Attribute Mapping to your specific Property Sets as you like.
Hope this helps you as Workaround.
Bye

Hi,
I want to learn how converting any Allplan element to IFC model in order to compatible with IFC 2x3 standards possible is (http://standards.buildingsmart.org/IFC/RELEASE/IFC2x3/TC1/HTML/). Simply, I need an example that explain how can any solid created by using extrude or tessellated object functions can be converted as a wall into IFC model. How can P-sets,attiributes base quantites be assigned to model. I need this example so much. That makes me so grateful.
