I am currently learning and experimenting with Allplan Visual Scripting (Workflow type) and would like to ask if there are learning materials, examples, or use-case collections that go beyond the basic documentation.
In particular, I am looking for practical, real-world use cases, such as:
Assigning and modifying attributes using Visual Scripting
Reading existing attributes (e.g. IFC Entity, user attributes)
Assigning or updating attributes based on conditions
Rule-based model changes
Changing line color, pen, layer, or format of existing model elements
Applying rules like:
“If IFC Entity = IfcBeam → set line color = red”
“If IFC Entity = IfcColumn → set line color = blue”
Geometry-based automation
Selecting a rectangular element
Automatically drawing a wall (or other elements) around the selected geometry
Deriving geometry from existing elements
The official documentation explains the basics, but it would be very helpful to have:
Step-by-step example workflows
Sample scripts (especially Workflow type)
Community use cases or tutorials showing complete solutions
If there are:
Internal examples
Training material
Forum threads
Videos or sample projects
that explain these kinds of workflows, I would greatly appreciate if you could share them.
I believe such examples would be very valuable for many users who want to adopt Visual Scripting for rule-based modeling and automation in daily BIM workflows.
