Question:

I still use a hardlock license for my Allplan seat. Now I want to switch to NemSLock. How can I do this?


Answer:

If you have not yet requested the switch, send an email to "nemslock@allplan.com". Describe your request briefly and include your customer number and the seat number you want to switch. Keep in mind that switching may take up to two working days.

  • Before you start installing, make sure you have received the temporary license file (for example, 1234567a_001_psd.nslock). We send you this file on an USB stick by mail and additionally by email if you requested this.
  • Next, update Allplan. Use the version that is already installed or a later one.
  • In the "Select License Information" dialog box, select the "License file from any folder" option and navigate to the folder with the new license file.
  • Select this license file and complete the update.
    This new license file is a temporary license, which expires after 30 days.
  • Check whether Allplan starts with the new license.
  • Now return the dongle as agreed. You can find the address in the letter you received along with the USB stick.
  • Next, generate a license request in NemSLock License Manager (see point 1) and send this license request by email to register@nemetschek.de.
    We will send you the registered license file as soon as we have received the hardlock.
  • Installing this final license file (see point 2) removes the lime limit.

Note:

Using the temporary license, you can start Allplan as a trial version. You can work with Allplan without any restrictions for 30 days.
Allplan starts as a viewer when this period has expired. However, you can still request and install the final license.

Below is a description of the necessary steps for the registration.






How to proceed:

1. Requesting the license
After you have installed Allplan with the temporary Softlock license, register as described below.
If you have installed Allplan with a trial license, you first need to install the temporary license ("customer#_seat_psd.nslock").

  • Open Nemetschek License Manager by clicking Start -> (All) Programs -> Nemetschek -> Nemetschek SoftLock 2006 -> License Manager. If you work with Windows Vista, you need to start Allplan License Manager as the administrator:
    Start (round Windows icon at bottom left) -> All Programs -> Nemetschek -> Nemetschek SoftLock 2006 -> License Manager. Right-click "License Manager" and choose "Run as administrator" on the shortcut menu.
  • Right-click the seat you want to register. A shortcut menu opens. Select "Request registered license" and then "Next".
  • Enter your customer details in the next dialog box.
    Important note:
    Make sure you enter your email address correctly, as the registered license file will be sent to this address later.
  • The next dialog prompts you to specify the program and seat. Click "Next".
  • Two options are available for sending the license request.
    If you use an email program to send emails, select the first option ("Start email program") and click "Next". The email program opens, automatically attaching the registration file to an email. All you need to do is send the email.
    If you use an email provider and send emails from the homepage of this provider, select the second option and click "Next". The program displays the "Register.txt." file. Attach this file to an email and send this email to register@nemetschek.de.


2. Installing the license file
As soon as you have sent the registration request to 'register@nemetschek.de' as described in step 1 and returned the dongle, we will send the final license file to the email address you specified in the registration request.

Important:We will send you the registered license file as soon as we have received the corresponding dongle.

Install this license file as follows:

  • Save the license file to any folder on the hard disk.
    If the license comes as a zip file, unzip this file.
  • Next, install the license by double-clicking the license file ("customer#_seat.nslock").
    Confirm the dialog box.
  • As an alternative, you can also use License Manager to install the license file (Start -> (All) Programs -> Nemetschek -> Nemetschek SoftLock 2006 -> License Manager).
    Click "Install - Install license" and then "Browse..." to select the license.
    Click "Finish" to complete the installation process.


Note:

Do not use the same computer to register several license files for different seats, as this would connect the seats. Once connected, you cannot separate the seats without the help of technical support.
