Question:

How can I install a license for the following programs?

  • Allplan BCM Building Costs (formerly Allright)
  • Allplan BCM Construction Cost
  • Allplan BCM Quantities
  • BOS (BuildingOfficeSystem)




Answer:

1) You want to install the program for the first time or upgrade it. -> Option 1)
2) You have already installed or upgraded the program; now all that remains is to install a current license. --> Option 2)

License files
If we sent you a ZIP file or you downloaded one from the Serviceplus portal, save this file to your computer.
Extract the data in a folder of your choice.

The license contains the following files:

  • Allright.lzd
  • Setup.exe
  • Npsrequ.dat (optional)
  • 111111.knr


Option 1)

  • Install the program.
  • Setup prompts you to specify the license. Specify the folder where you saved the license data mentioned above.
  • Continue to install the program. After the installation, you can start the program without having to install another license.


Option 2)
To install the latest license, you do not need to install the program from scratch. Just install the license data.

Do the following:

  • CloseallAllplan BCM applications that are running on your computer and on any other computer on the network.
  • Start Windows Explorer.
  • Open the folder with the data in Windows Explorer.
  • Double-click the Setup.exefile.
  • The license will be installed automatically.
  • If you purchased the Tenderer module, you must install the license on each computer. Otherwise, it is enough if you install the license on any computer just once.



Note:

If you have problems, send us the exact wording of the error message and the license data (all the files of the ZIP file).

Question:

Why is it not possible to install IBD planning data?
Why does Allplan not accept my activation code?



Answer:

If you have just installed Allplan or if you have used a trial license until now, start Allplan once with your license so that Allplan saves your customer number.
Make sure you install the correct IBD package.

IBD provides additional wizards you can use in Allplan. However, you have to purchase these additional wizards.
Should you have any questions (costs, use), please contact your sales partner.


Some notes on IBD:

IBD CAD Planning Data(building construction, industrial construction, ...) are wizards you can use in Allplan. Consequently, you can only install these wizards on a computer running Allplan.

IBD Building Components(building construction, building alteration, ... ) build on BCM/Nevaris.
If you use Nevaris, you must install IBD building components on a computer running Nevaris andAllplan.
If you want to use IBD building components for BCM, you must install this package on a computer running Allplan BCM.
As you can see, it matters whether you are trying to install IBD building components for Nevaris or BD building components for BCM.
You can find both packages on Allplan Connect.


Make sure you download the right package from Allplan Connect.

You get activation codes for the IBD packages you purchase.
You can see your activation codes on Allplan Connect at http://connect.allplan.com/license.

Pay attention to uppercase and lowercase letters in Setup.

You can filter by version, such as Allplan IBD Version 2016.


Note:

There is no trial license for IBD. This means that you cannot install IBD if you run Allplan with a trial license.

You can install two IBD packages for free. You do not require codes for IBD CAD Basic Planning Data and IBD CAD Building Alteration Data. You can also find these packages on Allplan Connect.

How can I access the FTP server of technical support?



Answer:

You can download data from and upload data to the FTP server.

To access our FTP server, you require a current Windows operating system. Do the following:

1. Downloading data:
You can find our data in the /Download folder.
Right-click the folder(s) or file(s) you want to download and select "Save Target As ...".
Specify where you want to copy the data by selecting a folder on your computer.

If customers agree, we can provide customer-specific data in the /Customerfolder.
For this, you will get separate instructions.


2. Uploading customer data:
If we agree, customers can upload data to the /Upload folder.



Notes:

  • You can upload only files. You cannot upload folders to the server. If you want to upload an entire project, please save this project to a ZIP file first.
  • You can also use Internet browsers to access the FTP server. However, there are some restrictions. Use an FTP client program (for example, FileZilla)to avoid errors. This makes it easier for you to upload and download data. See the following information.

What license issues do I need to consider when upgrading from Allplan 2015/2016/2017 to Allplan 2018?



Answer:

Depending on the licensing system you use, you need to consider different points.


1. Upgrading stand-alone workstations

1a. Stand-alone workstation - upgrading from Allplan 2016 or 2017
The license for Allplan 2018 updates automatically. Start Setup and follow the instructions displayed. When you are prompted to select the license file, click ‘Use active license’.
Follow the instructions and install Allplan.

1b. Stand-alone workstation - upgrading from Allplan 2015
Allplan 2016 introduced a new protection system. Licensing is now based on CodeMeter by Wibu Systems AG. You require a Product Key for Allplan. Start Setup and follow the instructions displayed. When you are prompted to select the license file, click 'License activation'. Enter your Product Key (26-digit code) and click 'Activate license'. By activating the license, you connect the license with the computer. Follow the instructions and install Allplan.

2a. License server workstations - upgrading from Allplan 2016 or 2017
Start by updating your license(s) at the license server. After this, upgrade the clients.

Check the version of the license server. If you use the license server 2016-1-4 or later, you can find the version number (Build-ID) at bottom left in the License Settingsprogram. The version number should be at least 1.614.x.x. If you cannot find the Build-ID, you work with an older license server. In this case, update the license server first. Download the software for the license server from Allplan Connect.

After having updated the licenses, you can upgrade Allplan at the clients. Start Setup and follow the instructions displayed. The license server license will be detected automatically on the network. When you are prompted to select the license file, click 'Use active license'. Follow the instructions and install Allplan.

Downloading licenses from Allplan Connect

You can find your license for Allplan 2014 BCM and the activation code for Allplan 2018 IBDin Allplan Connect. As an extra servicewe provide the old licenses for hardlock stand-alone workstations, the temporary licenses for NemSLock and the Product Keys for the new software protection system. Click
Profile > License administration.
Only administrators can use this function.

You will get your license by mail from customercare@allplan.com. So that we can create the license for you, please send us your IP address or the Host ID of the Allfa database server (Oracle)

How can I export and import projects using Allplan Building Costs?

If you have received data from us or if you send data to us, please read the 'Important information' section at the end of this FAQ!

Exporting:

  • SelectProject data -->Archive...; the Archive Administration dialog box opens.
  • Click Pathand set the archive folder.
  • Please make sure that Formatis set to Archive (version 4.0 and later).You can find this setting at bottom right.
  • Select the project you want to archive in the list box on the left.
  • ClickArchive projectto start backing up the data.
  • The project appears in the list box on the right.
  • As a result, the program has created an XXX.arafile.


Importing:

  • StartAllplan Building Costs.
  • SelectProject data -->Archive...
  • Click Pathand set the archive folder.
  • The project appears in the list box on the right; select it and click Restore archive.
  • If the program asks whether you want to create a copy, you are advised to do this to protect existing data.
  • The project appears in the list box on the left; you can now edit it.




Important information:

You can use this type of archiving to back up project data. Please note that this backup does not contain the complete database!
This type of archiving is very useful if you want to transfer data to technical support.
If you send a project, please do not forget to provide us with a detailed description of the problem.
This description should include the following information:

  • Program and version
  • When does the error occur? Or what did you do when the error occurred?
  • What does the error message say? A screenshot would be very helpful.
    (Pressing the Printkey copies the current contents of the screen to the Clipboard. Using CTRL+V, you can paste this screenshot into a Word document, save this file and send it to us.)
  • Office name or customer number and telephone number so that we can contact you.

We kindly ask you not to make any changes in the project in the meantime.

A note on fixed projects:
Please do not copy any data from a corrupt project to a fixed project as this may transfer the corrupt data to your current project!
